Understanding
Your Nammed Dental Benefits
Good oral health
is an essential part of overall well-being, and at Nammed, we offer a range of
dental benefits to ensure you and your family receive the care you need.
Whether you require routine dental check-ups, specialised orthodontic
treatment, or even dental surgery, our benefits are designed to support you
every step of the way. Understanding how these benefits work can help you plan
your treatments and make the most of your cover.
Dental
Surgery Benefits
If you or a
family member require dental surgery, Nammed provides extensive cover,
including trauma surgery, maxillofacial and oral surgery, dental implants, and
procedures performed in a hospital setting. Hospitalisation costs are covered
at 100% of the NAMAF tariff, while the surgeon and anaesthetist fees are
paid at 150% of the NAMAF tariff. This ensures that members receive
quality surgical care without excessive out-of-pocket costs.
Basic
Dentistry Benefits
Basic dentistry
includes general dental care such as consultations, root canals, oral hygiene
counselling, restorations (fillings), and full or partial dentures. For these
services, Nammed provides a set amount per family per year, based on the size
of the family and the chosen benefit option. This benefit helps you maintain
good dental health through regular check-ups and necessary treatments.
Specialised
Dentistry Benefits
Specialised
dental treatments can be costly, which is why Nammed offers a dedicated benefit
to cover orthodontic treatments and other advanced dental procedures. Like
basic dentistry, this benefit has an annual limit per family, determined by
family size and benefit option. However, both orthodontic and specialised
dentistry treatments are subject to sub-limits within the overall specialised
dentistry benefit.
Tips to Make
the Most of Your Dental Benefits
Dental
treatments, especially specialised procedures, can be expensive. Here’s how you
can manage your benefits wisely and avoid unexpected costs:
- Get a Quote First: Before undergoing any treatment, obtain a quote from your
dentist or orthodontist. This will help you understand your co-payment
amount, what the fund will cover, and avoid financial surprises. Keep in
mind that dental claims submitted after the date of the quote may impact
your remaining benefits.
- Know Your Option and Confirm
Your Benefits: Nammed’s benefits renew
annually, and each benefit option offers different levels of cover. By
understanding your option, you can plan treatments accordingly and ensure
they are completed without interruptions.
- Ask for Advice: If you’re unsure about your benefits, our friendly consultants
are here to help. They can guide you in choosing the most suitable benefit
option for your dental needs. While option changes can only be made in
December, these will take effect in January of the following year. If your
current benefits are not sufficient for your planned treatments, consider
adjusting your option during the annual selection period.
Taking proactive
steps to manage your dental health ensures that you receive the care you need
while making the most of your Nammed benefits. If you have any questions or
